SEATTLE – King County Sheriff Mitzi Johanknecht said Friday she is “outraged” by the conduct of the Minneapolis police officer whose actions led to the death of George Floyd and the failure of the three other officers there to intervene and save Floyd’s life.
And she vowed to take every possible step to prevent anything like that ever happening in King County.
“The video of a Minneapolis police officer kneeling on the neck of George Floyd, and his subsequent death, is heartbreaking and disturbing,” she said. “I see an officer willfully kneeling on the neck of a man who can’t breathe, and three of his fellow officers failing to intervene. Simply put, I am outraged.”
